Here I am was a "Year of the Artist" funded project which took place in 2000. Working with young people from The Bridge Foyer and Barrowmore village settlement the project aimed to bring isolated groups into contact with each other. Using film and collage the two groups came together to create a film and a series of life collages. The work was shown in an exhibition in a gallery space in Rufus Court, Chester.

Little People was a piece created as part of my M.A.The process went like this; photos were taken in urban landscapes, the people in the landscapes were cut out and made into stickers, these stickers were then relocated to different locations and rephotograped. These photos were then made into a bound artists book called "Little People". I could tell you why but you can make that up for yourself, its more fun that way.

No-thing was a delve into the world of internet chat rooms, looking for people with ideas which they were willing to donate to the project. Submissions were than made into a book which was the only object presented at the exhibition. Those who attended the exhibition were asked to create drawings of the proposals. The project got this far as the cleaner threw away the drawings. The final part of the project was to create the art works. This one is up for a repeat but this time hopefully we shall avoid the hoover.

Design has been a constant feature in my work and it has also led me to work on several design projects, including the design of this web site. Amongst other things I have designed several posters for The Harlequin Theatre and designed for a University College Chester M.A show invite.

Design projects slide
Photography I work in both digital and traditional photography. Often the photography will be narrative driven and sometimes includes text. I love the feel of decay and feel obliged to photograph it, as nothing can hold itself in the same state of decay for long. The photo serves as a trace of what is but will not be tomorrow.
