It seems important for me to stick my neck on the line and publicly state what I am aiming to do in terms of the local environment, wider world and others. Clicking on each of the headings below will allow you to see a brief mission statement relating to that heading. Sometimes the policies I have put in place make working alongside me a bit frustrating but I hope that those who work with me come to see that I'm not trying to pee them off just trying to do my bit for our planet.

Travel

I do not drive, this is a deliberate choice, the aim of which is to cut down on my Carbon Footprint. I use public transport, push bike and occasionally, when really necessary the odd taxi. I have limited my flying for the last few years, taking no flights since 2005, holidaying in this country instead. We have had some fantastic holidays. Materials for projects are often sourced from Grumpies in Manchester or Runcorn Play Resource Center, both accessible by public transport with the materials stashed into bags on wheels to make them easier to carry. Other materials are delivered and I endeavor to buy in bulk to make deliveries less damaging. Projects with groups will aim to use sustainable transports. Walking, biking and public transport will be used as a first choice with mini bus next and private cars as a last resort.

Paper

For promotional items I will use Elephant poo paper. This is a paper created to aid people whose crops were being destroyed by elephants. Through the manufacture of Elephant poo paper the people can now live in harmony with the elephants and their poo.

For general office paper I will use 100% recycled paper. I will print on duplex wherever possible and will reuse paper as scrap. Any end of use paper will be recycled.

Rubbish

I will use materials such as old yogurt pots within workshops to cut down on plastic waste. I will use reusable bags and refuse plastic bags.

I will aim to educate those I work with about Reusing, Reducing and Recycling by the choice of materials used. I will encourage participants to use both sides of the paper and use scrap paper for rough working.

I will compost food stuff and offer opportunities for participants to recycle plastic bottles and other items.

People

I will aim to treat those around me fairly. Artists working alongside me will be paid at recommended artists rate. I shall aim to offer work experience and advice to those who need it. previously I have had 4 students on placement from University College Chester.

I will aim to invest in my local community by taking part in some voluntary work .This year this work includes raising funds for St Luke's Hospice through Sandiway Pantomime group, programming workshops at Sandiway and Cuddington Youth Club, designing publicity for Harlequin Theatre and assisting with Rural Touring Arts Networks, Cross your Heart Performance.

I will aim to ensure that the work I take part in does not cause harm to those further away from home.

Purchasing

When possible I will aim to reuse and recycle materials rather than purchase new. I am an ardent collector of junk modeling materials which are for use in workshops.

I aim to buy items which are not going to cause undue harm to the environment or to others. This may cause some extra expense which should be offset by the use of reused materials.
