The Regal Cinema, in my local town of Northwich, closed down this year due to lack of custom.
My first visit there had been with my son. I can't remember the film we saw but I remember the woman who stood beneath the light at the front to serve ice cream and that the film broke for a while. A girl was sent out to apologize. I think we might miss the little hiccups in this slick new world. Miss running down to the front for an ice cream.
On the last showing I took my camera to the cinema. It seemed that somebody should record its slipping away. Others felt the same. There were lots of people taking note that day.
